This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +3 more states.
• Lead technical teams of 2-8+ specialists through intricate transformer installation and maintenance projects.
• Perform extensive electrical testing, including power factor analysis, winding resistance, and SFRA diagnostics.
• Act as the main customer liaison and technical advisor during essential field operations.
• Enhance project workflows by strategically assigning tasks according to team strengths and site conditions.
• Oversee high-voltage equipment, encompassing distribution transformers to transmission-level apparatus.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and urgent repairs on mission-critical power infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to address technical challenges and execute innovative solutions.
• Mentor junior technicians while fostering a culture of continuous safety excellence across all operations.
• Ensure adherence to relevant external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
• Associate degree or two-year technical diploma along with a minimum of 10 years of transformer service experience; OR, High School Diploma/GED with at least 12 years of transformer service experience.
• At least 3 years of experience supervising transformer service teams.
• In-depth knowledge of transformer field service operations and electrical testing methodologies.
• Proficiency in transformer installation, vacuum/oil processing, and internal component assembly.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel up to 85% within the assigned territory.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills and leadership experience in field settings.
• Demonstrated history of working safely around high-voltage electrical equipment.
• Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
