Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical assistance to clients throughout the operational lifespan of machinery.

• Provide recommendations and hands-on support to customers in diagnosing issues related to our equipment's functionality.

• Propose creative solutions to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the customer's operations.

• Conduct on-site training sessions for customer operators and technicians regarding system setup, operation, change-overs, and maintenance.

• Assemble component parts for the Aftermarket parts division.

• Participate in occasional machine rebuilds and upgrades.

• Investigate machine designs to identify non-standard components.

• Respond promptly to customer inquiries for immediate service assistance.

• Compile detailed trip reports for both the customer and the company.

• Prepare field time logs, expense reports, and follow-up correspondence with customers.

• Develop machine operation manuals and troubleshooting documentation.

• Engage in customer Factory Acceptance Tests.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's Degree in a relevant technical discipline or 8 years of equivalent work experience.

• A minimum of 3 years in custom machine manufacturing or mechanical repair and maintenance.

• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical technical applications, particularly Allen-Bradley PLCs, servo-driven motors and controls, stepper motors and controls, and pneumatic machinery.

• Ability to interpret and comprehend intricate engineering designs, including wiring diagrams.

• Experience in the packaging industry is preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Problem-solver with strong independent judgment capabilities.

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 85% of the time.
