Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical assistance to clients throughout the lifecycle of a machine.

• Provide guidance and hands-on support to clients in diagnosing issues related to the operation of our equipment.

• Present innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the customer’s operations.

• Conduct on-site training for customer operators and technicians on system setup, operation, changeover, and maintenance.

• Assemble component parts for the Aftermarket parts division.

• Participate in occasional machine rebuilds and upgrades.

• Investigate machine designs to pinpoint non-standard components.

• Address customer inquiries for immediate service assistance.

• Create comprehensive trip reports for both the customer and the company.

• Prepare field time reports, expense receipts, and maintain follow-up communication with clients.

• Develop machine operation manuals and troubleshooting guides.

• Engage in customer Factory Acceptance Tests.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's Degree in a relevant technical field or 8 years of related work experience.

• A minimum of 3 years in custom machine manufacturing or mechanical repair/maintenance.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical technical applications, especially with Allen-Bradley PLCs, servo motors and controls, stepper motors and controls, and pneumatic machinery.

• Capability to read and interpret complex engineering designs, including wiring diagrams.

• Experience in the packaging industry is preferred.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• A problem-solver with strong independent judgment abilities.

• Proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines for deliverables.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 85% of the time.
