This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• This role includes a company vehicle along with all necessary tools and testing equipment needed for the position.
• The Senior Field Service Technician is tasked with post-sale installation, optimization, maintenance, and management of sophisticated communication systems.
• The focus is on ensuring optimal performance levels across an integrated system while proactively addressing system-level alarms and errors.
• Responsibilities include system hardware and software installation and optimization, as well as advanced troubleshooting capabilities.
• Manage system uptime through regular maintenance and performance monitoring.
• Conduct preventative maintenance routines to guarantee proper system operation, emphasizing trend analysis and documentation of findings.
• Create solutions for challenging technical issues that arise during system implementation, upgrades, or support tasks.
• Collaborate with the System Manager, Engineering, Project Management, Sales, System Technologists, and Service Partners to effectively design, implement, optimize, and transition advanced communication systems that meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Involvement in the installation, optimization, and maintenance of NG911 infrastructure.
• Responsible for the installation, optimization, and maintenance of NICE Public Safety systems.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with Motorola Astro P25 Communications Systems, VHF, UHF, 700/800 Public Radio systems, and 911/ECW/Airbus equipment.
• An Associate's Degree or EET, Technical Certification, Project Management Certification, IT Certification, or Military Technical Certification.
• Experience with one or more of the following: P25 radio systems, NICE public safety loggers, LMR RF systems, wired/wireless communication systems, networking gear, and IT networks.
• Extensive knowledge of wired and wireless communications systems, including local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
• Proficiency in computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance, as well as NICE public safety loggers, including cabling, channel banks, hubs, routers, switches, and bridges.
• Strong understanding of standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, along with knowledge of packet switching techniques.
• High level of computer literacy, particularly with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent self-management and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with Motorola’s customers and subcontractor partners, in addition to Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams.
• Self-motivated and capable of managing responsibilities independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to quickly resolve customer issues, especially in high-pressure situations.
• Familiarity with equipment typically used for the optimization and testing of Motorola Two-Way radio systems (e.g., Communications Systems Analyzers, watt meters, TIMS sets, CPS, RSS, Antenna Systems Analyzers (FDRs), T1 test sets, etc.).
• Experience in configuring and testing Motorola two-way radio and subscriber products.
• Solid understanding of Motorola Trunking, P25, and SmartZone systems.
• Capable of troubleshooting at the sub-system level as a subject matter expert.
