Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Travel weekly to deliver installation, maintenance, troubleshooting/repair, and customer training support for all LB Foster friction management lubricators.

• Significant travel to various work sites across North America is necessary each week.

• Collaborate with external customers and internal company departments for product development and relationship-building efforts.

• Capability to work outdoors on railway tracks in diverse weather conditions.

• Responsible for managing personal travel expense accounts, individual or company-provided mechanical tools, and company-issued credit cards where necessary.

• Address basic issues and challenges, escalating more complex matters to higher-level staff.

• Perform all other assigned duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• 0-2 years of experience in hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, or electrical fields is preferred.

• A valid driver’s license and driving record are required.

• E-Railsafe certification is mandatory upon hire, along with any additional customer-specific training needed to access work sites.

• Familiarity with basic hand and power tools is necessary.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with proficient time management abilities.

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) is advantageous.

• A high level of reliability, professionalism, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision are essential qualities for this role.

• Proficient writing skills for submitting work reports are required.

• Must have the ability and willingness to adhere to all relevant safety and operational guidelines for client railways in a professional and conscientious manner.

• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection as necessary.
