This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Perform precision mechanical tasks in high-voltage electrical substations in various geographical locations under the supervision of senior technicians.
• Collaborate closely with seasoned Field Service Technicians to gain insights into transformer maintenance, service protocols, and troubleshooting methods.
• Utilize technical, mechanical, or military-honed skills in practical field service contexts.
• Carry out equipment inspections and diagnostic evaluations to aid in preventive maintenance initiatives.
• Support the servicing and repair of transformer systems following established procedures and utilizing appropriate tools.
• Develop skills to assess technical data and apply insights to significant customer issues.
• Operate Vacuum Oil Processors (VOPs) and oil handling equipment with appropriate training and supervision.
• Keep precise processing logs and assist in transformer testing operations.
• Use digital tools and software platforms for documentation and site reporting purposes.
• Work in partnership with engineering teams, senior field personnel, and clients to enhance maintenance strategies.
• Adhere to all relevant safety, environmental, and internal protocols.
• High School Diploma/GED along with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in technical or mechanical sectors.
• Relevant military training or experience is highly valued and considered equivalent.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, with the ability to travel up to 85% across the nation.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform strenuous tasks for extended durations.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for as much as 12 hours a day.
• Class A CDL is preferred for the operation of specialized service vehicles.
• Welding certification or experience is preferred to enhance field capabilities.
• Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
