Field Service Technician

📋 Description

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software problems on equipment at client locations, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

• Support the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment while guiding customer personnel on proper operation and maintenance practices.

• Develop and sustain strong customer relationships through effective communication and diplomacy.

• Work collaboratively with team members to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.

• Establish and nurture customer relationships.

⛳️ Requirements

• A two-year post-secondary diploma/certificate in electro-mechanical technology along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, OR a high school diploma with at least 7 years of applicable experience.

• Expertise in mechanical, pneumatic, and control systems, along with a thorough understanding of material handling practices.

• Capability to read and interpret technical documents, including engineering drawings, operation and maintenance instructions, bills of materials, and procedure manuals.

• Proficiency in writing reports and business communications.

• Ability to effectively present information and address inquiries from groups of leaders, clients, and customers.

• Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects alongside phone calls and simultaneous inquiries.

• Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

• Advanced knowledge of VFD functions, operations, and programming.

• Experience with Pressure Sensitive Labeling Machines is preferred, or with Converting Equipment for Shrink Sleeve Labels and Flexible Packaging.

• Desired knowledge in HMI programming for GE Proficy, Exor, and Allen Bradley.

• Experience in motion control with Allen Bradley and Control Techniques/SyPT is preferred.

• Proficiency in interpreting and troubleshooting pneumatic and electrical schematics.

• Ability to troubleshoot wiring and perform I/O checks.

• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.

• Experience with robotics is advantageous.
