Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Accountable for carrying out fundamental maintenance and minor repairs on designated products at customer locations.

• Diagnose and address basic technical issues related to selected products utilizing foundational knowledge at customer sites.

• Organize assigned service tasks in accordance with the FSE Handbook.

• Ensure follow-up on commitments and promises made to customers.

• Create on-site service reports and secure the customer's signature.

• Update IT systems related to service execution with pertinent information.

• Report any unsafe practices or safety incidents following local reporting protocols.

• Document the Installed Base on-site and relay sales leads to the sales team.

• Provide proactive recommendations to customers regarding the purchase of additional spare parts.

• Deliver services at our Service Centers as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate’s degree with a solid mechanical background.

• More than 5 years of experience in comparable positions, with preferred expertise in transmission systems.

• Proficient mechanical skills and abilities.

• Capability to convey Operational and Safety parameters for Alfa Laval equipment to customers.

• A customer service and sales orientation.

• Outstanding interpersonal skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

• Team-oriented with the capacity to work independently.

• Basic proficiency in PC applications such as Word and Excel.

• Willingness to learn and utilize systems necessary for managing service and expense reports.

• Conduct tasks in compliance with OHSA standards.

• Successfully complete required safety training programs.
