Field Service Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Perform service tasks according to established work instructions and adhere to ABB's quality and safety standards.

• Provide exceptional customer service by planning and executing service tasks in alignment with customer orders and expectations.

• Clearly communicate service timelines and expectations to enhance customer retention.

• Ensure quality control of hardware and software while troubleshooting any system issues.

• Address customer inquiries regarding the status of the ABB system.

• Resolve customer service issues while nurturing strong customer relationships.

• Document all work completed for both preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

• Actively participate in various projects, including upgrades, installations, and the introduction of new functionalities.

• Collaborate with other teams to ensure that commitments are fulfilled.

• Lead Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) initiatives at customer locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate’s degree in a relevant field with 5+ years of experience in electrical/electronics, instrumentation, or process control; OR a high school diploma/GED with 7+ years of related experience.

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude, including a fundamental understanding of electrical theory and safety, along with the ability to utilize electrical testing equipment.

• Proficient in reading electrical diagrams and troubleshooting electrical systems.

• Capability to identify voltage systems exceeding 240 VAC/870 VDC.

• Comfortable using standard hand tools.

• Preferably possess a basic understanding of the paper-making process and process control; familiarity with DCS programming and troubleshooting is advantageous.

• Willingness to travel up to 15% for training and to assist at other locations as necessary.

• Candidates must have work authorization that permits them to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.
