This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide professional and technical field services at client locations.
• Execute transformer surveys and establish baseline measurements.
• Conduct system startup, commissioning, integrated system testing, preventive and planned maintenance, as well as emergency repairs.
• Uphold safety standards and perform all tasks in a safe and professional manner.
• Manage complex schedules, travel arrangements, and site access for secure environments.
• Carry out on-site activities with precision and ensure timely report delivery.
• Collaborate with client engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to fulfill project requirements and achieve customer satisfaction.
• Review work instructions, manuals, commissioning scripts, electrical drawings, and one-line diagrams to safely execute tasks.
• Coordinate with technical support and management teams to escalate any issues.
• Assist in transformer measurement, verification, energy savings calculations, configuration, and the design of replacement transformers.
• Complete necessary training and perform startup, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of PDUs and small to medium UPS systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience in electrical/power electronics or related military service.
• Familiarity with, or a willingness to learn and adhere to, OSHA 1910 and NFPA 70E health and safety regulations.
• Knowledge of, or eagerness to learn about, electrical codes, transformers, power electronics, PDUs, UPS systems, ESS, and STS.
• Capability to provide high-quality customer service while working independently.
• Proficiency in planning travel and managing intricate client-site schedules.
• Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, the energy conservation market.
• Ability to gather and synthesize information from various sources across different projects and issues.
• Skill in representing Powersmiths and effectively communicating with clients, contractors, commissioning agents, and others at varying technical levels.
• Ability to adhere to standards and specific project requirements set by customers.
• Capacity to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Eligibility to obtain clearance for accessing schools and government facilities; customer background checks and fingerprinting may be necessary.
• Ability to purchase airline tickets, rent vehicles, and book accommodations at personal cost with monthly reimbursement.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check; ongoing or periodic testing may be required.
• Commitment to best practices and regulations regarding health and safety.
• Adherence to company policies.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and basic TCP/IP networking.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Valid passport for international travel purposes.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for company sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites, including driving or using other means of transportation.
• Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Capacity to stand, walk, climb, bend, or kneel for extended periods.
• Competence in reading technical documents, diagrams, and computer screens, along with effective communication skills.
