Field Service Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Travel to client locations to install, repair, and conduct preventive maintenance on various equipment, including flooded and sealed batteries, chargers, and DC power distribution systems (such as cable trays, battery racks, and power cables).

• Engage with individuals at all organizational levels, both internally and externally.

• Create and deliver training sessions on the safe operation of equipment and demonstrate skills to trainees, including team members and customers.

• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections of customer batteries, chargers, battery handling equipment, and the battery changing/charging area while documenting findings.

• Replace faulty components, reassemble batteries, and fuse lead parts using a gas torch.

• Assess the specific gravity of battery solutions.

• Water, wash, clean, and neutralize customer batteries on-site.

• Install equipment at customer facilities to ensure it operates fully per specifications.

• Provide on-site technical support to troubleshoot and repair equipment issues.

• Maintain records of performance reports.

• Act as a communication bridge between the customer and the company to ensure exemplary service delivery.

• Occasionally download battery and charger data using a monitoring device and utilize this information to address battery/charger issues in line with customer operations.

• Occasionally report to the local EnerSys Service Center for mandatory training, inventory management, parts pick-up/drop-off, etc. Additional duties may be assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent; or relevant industry experience and/or training; or a suitable combination of education and experience.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and the Internet.

• Fundamental mechanical skills.

• Prior customer service experience in field support roles.

• Capable of reading with understanding and writing documents (such as customer correspondence, memos, and reports) in English.

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and solve simple equations.

• Must be available to work flexible hours and respond to after-hours service requests as needed.

• Driving Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a safe driving record with minimal traffic violations. Willingness and ability to travel to client locations daily. This position is remote and may require overnight travel.
