Field Service Engineer – Northern Virginia

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of low voltage distribution systems, transformers, and associated power distribution equipment in a professional manner.

• Prepare technical reports and test sheets, while monitoring spare parts, tools, equipment, consumables, and more.

• Uphold and comply with safety regulations for both the company and the specific job sites.

• Participate in all relevant site meetings.

• Collaborate with Project Management and site personnel.

• Deliver outstanding customer service by listening to clients' needs and addressing them or escalating them within our organization for resolution.

• Maintain regular communication with Project Managers to receive and convey information.

• Actively work to reduce waste and enhance value in all processes.

• Comply with all applicable health and safety regulations and engage in safe work practices.

• Follow company policies and regulations.

• Perform additional duties as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• An Associate's degree in electrical power distribution or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar area.

• Military experience is a plus.

• Preference for candidates with Data Center or equivalent mission-critical system experience.

• Proven experience with electrical power distribution systems, power monitoring systems, both AC and DC electrical power, as well as communication protocols.

• Preferred experience of three to five years in designing low voltage switchgear assemblies/systems and/or power distribution equipment.

• Familiarity with UL Standards, including UL67 Panelboards, UL1008 Transfer Switch Equipment, UL10008S Static Transfer Switches, UL60950 Information Technology Equipment, UL891 Switchboards, and UL1558 Metal-Enclosed Low-Voltage Power Circuit Breaker Switchgear, among other relevant standards.

• Capability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

• Proficiency in using testing equipment, including multimeters, current meters, and related devices.
