This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Montana, +4 more states.
• Deliver top-notch installation services for new equipment, ensuring meticulous attention to detail, high standards for system performance, and a professional transition to the customer.
• Effectively troubleshoot and accurately diagnose issues with assigned equipment, facilitating repairs within a single visit.
• Validate all Service Work Orders (SVOs) within 24 hours of completing the work, adhering to all procedures and guidelines regarding spare parts and time allocations.
• Provide precise and comprehensive information for billable quotations within 24 hours as requested.
• Complete all Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks for contract customers within 90 days of SVO assignment, utilizing the correct checklists and documentation which must be shared with the customer.
• Promptly escalate any unresolved issues using the appropriate processes to guarantee customer satisfaction and swift resolution.
• Inform customers of potential upgrades and accessories that could enhance their equipment's capabilities and direct any leads to the appropriate channels.
• Connect all available systems to the ZEISS Predictive Service network, as agreed with the customer.
• Perform special site or system environmental analysis tests as assigned by management.
• Train customers on the fundamental operation and maintenance of the system using established guidelines.
• Properly maintain all ZEISS tools and assets made available during the execution of assigned duties.
• Successfully complete all designated technical training to gain a thorough understanding of the assigned company equipment. This includes fulfilling all required pre-reading assignments prior to classroom courses, independently reviewing all materials, and passing the courses to the instructors' satisfaction.
• Actively participate in personal development by utilizing resources available on the ZEISS CurioZ online training portal, alongside self-directed learning relevant to the role.
• Ensure personal safety while visiting labs and institutions by comprehending basic lab conduct and recognizing potential risks. Additionally, comply with all safety protocols at customer sites.
• A 4-year degree or technical certificate in a technical/scientific discipline, related military electronics experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, such as 3+ years of direct experience in building, maintaining, installing, and/or repairing similarly complex automated electromechanical systems.
• 3-5 years of professional work experience.
• Strong knowledge of Laboratory Safety requirements for BSL 1, 2, and 3 environments, including specimen handling of Level 3 (and below) pathogenic biohazards (e.g., bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, and prions).
• Ability to comprehend and troubleshoot issues in software, electronics, optics and electron optics, high voltage, high vacuum, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with Windows operating environments and word processing or email applications.
• Experience with databases or CRM systems is a plus.
• Capability to read and interpret electrical or mechanical engineering documentation and schematics.
• Must possess a good driving record, hold a valid U.S. driver’s license, and be able to operate a company-provided car/van.
