
Field Service Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Conduct installations, upgrades, preventative maintenance, and repairs of Saphyr and Straty systems at client locations (30%).
• Identify and resolve intricate instrument issues to minimize downtime (25%).
• Maintain consistent and proactive communication with customers and internal teams to ensure issues are resolved, resulting in customer satisfaction (15%).
• Collaborate with regional and global Field Service Engineers (FSE), Field Application Scientists (FAS), Sales, Development, and Technical Support teams for collective success (10%).
• Stay current on administrative tasks such as submitting timely and accurate installation and maintenance reports, managing parts ordering and returns, and expense reporting (5%).
• Provide pertinent updates regarding customer information to internal partners to support BNG objectives, and offer technical insights and design recommendations for product enhancements (5%).
• Perform additional duties as assigned (5%).
• Experience in aligning and troubleshooting imaging systems or relevant research/clinical devices.
• Strong professional communication and writing skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal partners.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
• Must have a valid passport or the ability to obtain one within three months of the start date.
• Residing near a major airport is essential.
• Preferred experience includes capital equipment support in a research laboratory setting.
• Expertise in complex electronics troubleshooting, LASER imaging, or Linux Server/Networking is a plus.
• Anticipated travel time of up to 60%.
