Field Service Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Execute installations, upgrades, preventative maintenance, and repairs of Saphyr and Straty systems at client locations (30%).

• Identify and resolve intricate instrument issues to minimize downtime (25%).

• Maintain consistent and open communication with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure issues are resolved, leading to high customer satisfaction (15%).

• Collaborate with regional and global Field Service Engineers (FSE), Field Application Scientists (FAS), Sales, Development, and Technical Support teams to achieve collective success (10%).

• Stay current on administrative tasks, including providing timely and precise installation and maintenance reports, managing parts orders and returns, and expense reporting (5%).

• Offer pertinent customer information updates to internal teams in alignment with BNG objectives and provide technical insights and design recommendations for product enhancements (5%).

• Ensure accurate use of the company’s customer relationship management database (CRM) (5%).

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned (5%).

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in aligning and troubleshooting imaging systems or related research/clinical devices.

• Strong professional communication and writing abilities, with a knack for engaging effectively with customers and internal partners.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license is required.

• A valid passport or the capability to obtain one within three months of the start date is necessary.

• Must be located near a major airport.

• Preferred Skills and Abilities: Experience in supporting capital equipment within a research laboratory setting. Proficiency in complex electronics troubleshooting, LASER imaging, or Linux Server/Networking is advantageous.
