Field Service Engineer – Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS)

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maine, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical assistance throughout all stages of GIS project implementation, which includes installation, commissioning, testing, acceptance, and handover.

• Provide on-site oversight for the installation and commissioning processes of GIS substations.

• Oversee troubleshooting initiatives involving field personnel and subcontractors.

• Assist and supervise contracted maintenance activities to guarantee effective completion of work.

• Keep comprehensive site documentation, encompassing operational procedures, performance reports, test data, and equipment manuals.

• Coordinate and communicate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate seamless site execution.

• Collaborate closely with customers on-site to enhance service outcomes and satisfaction.

• Ensure proper utilization and maintenance of tools, equipment, vehicles, materials, and supplies at job sites.

• Accountable for ensuring adherence to applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2–4 years of relevant experience in engineering and/or construction settings.

• Strong comprehension of electrical and mechanical equipment.

• Proficient interpersonal and communication abilities for fieldwork and customer interactions.

• Capability to lead teams and resolve on-site conflict situations effectively.

• Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project.

• Fluent in English; knowledge of additional European languages is advantageous.
