Field Service Engineer, Essex

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Identifying and fixing faults and malfunctions in parcel locker machines (APMs) on-site to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.

• Conducting maintenance and modernization of parcel locker machines, which involves implementing hardware and software upgrades to improve reliability and efficiency.

• Performing diagnostics, reconfiguration, and installation of computer software or firmware for computer, electronic, and electromechanical equipment, ensuring compatibility and compliance with security standards.

• Processing and documenting assigned repairs through the communication channels utilized within the organization.

• Managing tools and components associated with parcel locker machines.

• Overseeing systems for handling personnel-related matters.

• Ensuring quality control of work completed by internal employees and subcontractors, verifying adherence to technical standards, contractual obligations, and company policies.

• Offering technical and substantive support to employees and subcontractors (including those from international locations) through communication and IT channels used within the company.

• Contributing to the development of solutions for innovative parcel locker machines.

• Preparing and maintaining technical manuals and documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant experience in a field service technical engineering role involving electrical and mechanical equipment.

• Skilled in utilizing hand tools and diagnostic tools, such as multi-meters.

• Expertise in diagnosing and repairing equipment, with experience in software configuration and firmware updates.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for addressing complex technical challenges.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for providing technical training.

• Capacity to manage tasks effectively, ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines across various markets.

• High level of accuracy in quality control and documentation updates.

• Experience collaborating with diverse teams, including international subcontractors and internal personnel.

• Willingness to travel for service and training activities both within the UK and occasionally internationally.

• Familiarity with parcel locker systems or similar electromechanical devices, as well as organizational IT tools.

• Strong time management skills and the ability to responsibly handle tools and components.
