Field Service Engineer, Digital Radiography

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Performs scheduled preventive maintenance and documents all service events, tests, and corrective maintenance conducted on Samsung HME digital radiography imaging technologies.

• Engages with key stakeholders to prepare for the installation and deployment of Samsung HME digital radiography imaging technologies, which includes electrical, mechanical, gas, pneumatics, software, networking, and integration with data/information retention systems.

• Coordinates and conducts the assembly and installation of Samsung HME digital radiography imaging technologies, focusing on electrical, mechanical, software, networking, and integration with data/information retention systems.

• Develops periodic maintenance instructions for Samsung HME digital radiography imaging technologies.

• Conducts necessary safety inspections and performance assurance on Samsung HME digital radiography imaging technologies.

• Evaluates Samsung HME digital radiography imaging technologies for compliance with HIPAA storage and security policies.

• Completes documentation for entry into the centralized maintenance management system.

• Maintains documentation regarding system function, configuration, and support.

• Ensures adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as applicable policies and procedures governing Samsung HME digital radiography imaging technologies.

• Either directly performs or coordinates with Samsung HME dealers or independent service vendors for performance assessments and preventive maintenance on Samsung HME digital radiography imaging technologies, documenting the work performed.

• Reviews the outcomes of repairs and preventive maintenance performed by Samsung HME dealers and independent service organizations, making recommendations for adjustments to preventive maintenance schedules, procedures, or documentation.

• Diagnoses and rectifies malfunctions in Samsung HME digital radiography imaging technologies, using methods such as observation of front panel and controls, interpretation of block and schematic diagrams, using appropriate test equipment, replacing components, PC boards, sub-systems, and software, restoring network connectivity and integration with data/information retention systems, and ensuring calibration to manufacturers' specifications while working with clinical and engineering personnel to resolve operator-based issues.

• Carries out or coordinates remediation actions concerning the safety of Samsung HME digital radiography imaging technologies and medical/imaging equipment.

• Conducts investigative evaluations of Samsung HME digital radiography imaging technologies involved in patient and employee incidents or accidents, documenting findings and reporting as required.

• Manages or coordinates the decommissioning of Samsung HME digital radiography imaging technologies and other medical equipment according to established policies.

• Assists with staff in-service education as needed, including cross-training new employees on the use of test equipment, departmental procedures, and medical system support.

• Develops and implements a professional growth plan.

• Stays current with advancing technology, including Samsung HME provided training as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.

• Performs various other duties as directed in support of organizational needs.


⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Networking, or a related field, or equivalent experience is preferred.

• Technical training and a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience servicing medical equipment.

• Experience with CT and Imaging technologies is an advantage.

• Familiarity with ISO, FDA, CMDR Awareness Training, and Product Complaint System, or Certification – Health Stream.

• Proficient in mechanical devices, tools, test equipment, telecommunications systems, and possess a working knowledge of computer networking.

• Must exhibit fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and work effectively in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

• Experience in budget, expense, and resource management is required.

• Ability to compile facts from various sources, analyze data, and provide informed recommendations to management.
