Field Service Engineer – Defense & Aerospace

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Travel to customer locations to assist in executing preventive maintenance procedures, system-level repairs, system installations, and acceptance testing for Teradyne Defense and Aerospace Test Systems (S9100, SpectrumHS, SpectrumBT Tester, High Speed SubSystem, Tempo).

• Collaborate with various support teams within Teradyne to fulfill the company’s commitment to our customers.

• Offer technical assistance to customers and field teams, either on-site or via phone or email.

• Recognize issues that necessitate escalation within the team.

• Suggest improvements to current product solutions to enhance tester uptime and performance.

• Engage in cost reduction and productivity enhancement initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in test/product service engineering.

• Previous experience with Teradyne or any other ATE platforms is an advantage.

• Familiarity with C, C++, or Visual Basic 5 is preferred.

• A degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering is preferred.

• Proficient in Siemens PLC programming, debugging, Watlow programming, TIA portal, and Step 7 is preferred.

• Strong skills in automation troubleshooting and analysis.

• Attentive to communication needs and effective follow-up until issues are resolved.

• A self-starter and team player with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

• Motivated to pursue technical knowledge relevant to the role.

• Must meet requirements for maintaining a secure clearance.

• Willingness to meet travel demands for the position – travel will be necessary most weeks (over 75%) and may be on short notice.

• Capability to frequently lift and carry weights between 25 - 50 lbs.
