Field Service Engineer – Defense & Aerospace

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Visit customer locations to assist with preventive maintenance tasks, system repairs, system installations, and acceptance testing of Teradyne Defense and Aerospace Test Systems (S9100, SpectrumHS, SpectrumBT Tester, High Speed SubSystem, Tempo).

• Collaborate with various support teams at Teradyne to fulfill our commitment to customers.

• Offer technical assistance to customers and field teams either on-site or via phone or email.

• Recognize issues that require escalation within the team.

• Suggest enhancements to existing product solutions to boost tester uptime and performance.

• Engage in cost reduction and productivity enhancement initiatives.

• Always uphold Teradyne's values and respect customer core principles.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in test/product service engineering.

• Previous experience with Teradyne or other ATE platforms is advantageous.

• Familiarity with C, C++, or Visual Basic 5 is preferred.

• A degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering is preferred.

• Proficient in Siemens PLC programming, debugging, Watlow programming, TIA portal, and Step 7 is preferred.

• Strong skills in automation troubleshooting and analysis.

• Attentive to communication needs and effective in following up until issues are resolved.

• A self-motivated individual who is a good team player with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

• Driven to acquire technical knowledge relevant to the role.

• Must meet the requirements for a secure clearance.

• Must be able to meet travel demands for the position—travel is expected most weeks (75%+) and may occur on short notice.

• Capable of frequently lifting and carrying weights between 25 to 50 lbs.
