Field Service Engineer – Defense & Aero

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Travel to client locations to assist customers in executing preventive maintenance procedures, conducting system-level repairs, installing systems, and performing acceptance testing of Teradyne Defense and Aerospace Test Systems (S9100, SpectrumHS, SpectrumBT Tester, High Speed SubSystem, Tempo).

• Collaborate with various support teams within Teradyne to fulfill our commitment to customers.

• Offer technical assistance to customers and field teams, either on-site or via phone or email.

• Identify issues that necessitate escalation within the team.

• Propose enhancements to existing product solutions to boost tester uptime and performance.

• Engage in cost reduction and productivity enhancement initiatives.

• Always uphold Teradyne's and customers' core values.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in test/product service engineering.

• Previous experience with Teradyne or any other Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platform is advantageous.

• Familiarity with C, C++, or Visual Basic 5 is preferred.

• A degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering is preferred.

• Proficient in Siemens PLC programming, debugging, Watlow programming, TIA portal, and Step 7 is preferred.

• Strong skills in automation troubleshooting and analysis.

• Attentive to communication needs and effective in following up until issues are resolved.

• A self-starter who is a good team player with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

• Motivated to pursue technical knowledge relevant to the role.

• Consistently align work processes and expectations with customers and field teams in response to the evolving needs of the dynamic business landscape.

• Must meet the requirements for obtaining a secure clearance.

• Must be willing to meet travel requirements for the position—travel will be necessary most weeks (75%+) and may occur on short notice.

• Capability to frequently lift and carry 25 - 50 lbs.
