This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Deliver both standard and advanced technical and sales support to clients, including assessing warranty claims, scheduling and coordinating customer visits and project work to reduce travel costs and optimize completion timelines, and aiding Engineering/Manufacturing with design suggestions and inspections of new equipment.
• Respond promptly to inquiries from customers and vendors, collaborating and communicating effectively to assess urgency and specific needs, while elucidating complex issues and their resolutions.
• Provide efficient remote and on-site technical support for customers regarding all aspects of equipment operation, including commissioning new systems, training personnel on operations and maintenance, and troubleshooting both standard and complex in-service issues alongside repair supervision.
• Conduct precise inspections and tests of materials and machinery, including but not limited to instrument loop checks and system safety assessments, ensuring proper operations and compliance with all safety regulations and policies.
• Accurately inspect and verify the dimensions of parts to confirm adherence to specifications.
• Conduct thorough investigations into customer complaints to ascertain the validity of warranty claims; determine whether failures result from customer error or if they stem from internal design or external supplier issues that need to be escalated to the functional manager for corrective action in accordance with the SNIF® Quality Management System.
• Provide timely and detailed reports to the central office based on diagnoses made during customer visits, encompassing technical issues, maintenance recommendations, and resolutions.
• Identify opportunities and organize initiatives to reduce costs and enhance efficiencies effectively.
• Deliver technical training to end-users during installation and commissioning phases to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Practical Mechanical or Electrical experience with manufacturing equipment, ideally in the aluminum or primary metals sector, along with experience in industrial fuel-fired equipment/engineered systems, and PLC controls preferred.
• Capability to assess, troubleshoot, and repair machinery by consulting and applying principles, techniques, and standard operating procedures.
• Fundamental knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and basic machinery.
• Familiarity with design techniques, tools, and principles involved in creating precise technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
• Ability to utilize PLC knowledge in the design, programming, and maintenance of automated machinery and equipment.
• Proficient computer skills with various software applications, including Microsoft Office Products, Visio, and Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD).
• Willingness to travel by land and air up to 80%, both domestically and internationally.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and US Passport, or the ability to obtain them as required.
• Flexibility to work extended hours based on business needs.
