This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as the main point of contact for technicians addressing issues in the field.
• Leverage your automation expertise to tackle unique and intricate problems.
• Consistently mentor and enhance the skills of colleagues to empower them in executing repairs.
• Oversee onsite resources during repairs and deployments, managing both contractors and Ocado employees.
• Responsible for participating in the completion of hardware and software repairs and updates, including supervising third-party contractors.
• Identify and propose process enhancements, develop comprehensive solutions, create documentation, and manage the implementation of changes.
• Detect, research, diagnose, and troubleshoot solutions to resolve customer issues.
• Monitor updates to preventative maintenance schedules and repair protocols.
• Execute tasks at ground level that necessitate frequent kneeling, squatting, crawling, and working in confined or limited spaces.
• Act as a resource for engineering, product, service, and sales teams as necessary.
• Travel to prospective customers' locations to conduct pre-deployment assessments and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Visit customer sites to oversee and complete the deployment or removal of hardware.
• Travel between customer locations to carry out hardware and software updates as instructed by the operations team.
• Visit Kindred offices to support hardware project design and implementation.
• BS/MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in a relevant industry (e.g., industrial automation).
• Capability to independently execute complex repairs on both mobile and industrial robotic systems.
• Proficiency in de-escalating situations, communicating effectively, and documenting customer requests.
• Experience in supervising and training team members.
• Familiarity with assisting in new robot bring-up and overseeing installations.
• Knowledge of industrial robot arms and autonomous vehicles (e.g., jogging robot arms, setting parameters, diagnosing sensors).
• Understanding of automation and industry safety standards.
• Ability to develop and implement robotics preventative maintenance schedules and teach associated tasks to colleagues.
• Capability to document processes necessary for deploying and maintaining our systems.
• Proficient in interpreting wiring diagrams, diagnosing electrical issues, and writing detailed reports.
• Up to 75% travel to customer sites.
