This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
• Responsible for visiting customer locations to carry out a variety of services, including verification, preventative maintenance, repairs, and installations on a diverse range of Instron’s products.
• Provided with a company vehicle and necessary tools/equipment, including a laptop and a cell phone.
• Support a well-established service operation.
• Regional responsibility covering the greater Baltimore and Washington, DC area.
• Occasional travel to other locations within the US may be necessary, involving up to 30% overnight travel.
• A two or four-year technical degree from an accredited institution.
• Proficiency in electro-mechanical systems.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret fundamental technical information related to mechanics and electronics.
• Capability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems.
• Familiarity with PCs, including operating systems and Windows applications.
• High level of autonomy.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
• Previous field service experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with automation systems is a plus.
• Experience in performing preventative or corrective maintenance on servo hydraulic systems is preferred.
• Experience in materials testing is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in delivering hands-on and classroom training on technical topics is preferred.
• Ability to successfully pass security background checks for access to US Government and military facilities.
