Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Delivering onsite installation, qualification, upgrades, repairs, and preventative maintenance services for next-generation sequencers.

• Diagnosing root causes and addressing product issues in the field with assistance when necessary.

• Exhibiting professionalism, understanding, tact, and technical expertise in all customer interactions.

• Executing and adhering to policies regarding the management of spare parts: ordering, usage, returns, physical inventory, and car stock management.

• Employing service CRM software to accurately record work in a timely manner.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in engineering, physics, biology, chemistry, or a related discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience).

• Preferred experience with NGS sequencing instruments and sequencing run setup.

• Capability to troubleshoot issues with complex laboratory equipment that involves chemistry, software, and hardware.

• Strong skills in time management, problem-solving, organization, and relationship building.

• Experience in servicing scientific instrumentation that includes optics, fluid handling, and thermal systems.

• Preferred experience with multiple full life cycle product launches.

• Proficiency with data collection and analysis tools (e.g., in MATLAB, Python, C++, or Java) is preferred.

• Helpful experience with fluorescence microscopy.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing capabilities.

• Must possess flexibility in working hours, as this role may require customer support during non-standard business hours.

• Demonstrated account management skills are preferred.
