Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Korea.

📋 Description

• Install, commission, calibrate, maintain, and repair Biotage laboratory instruments.

• Execute preventative maintenance and corrective service tasks to ensure optimal performance of instruments.

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and basic software issues both on-site and remotely.

• Provide prompt and effective technical support to enhance instrument uptime and customer satisfaction.

• Establish and nurture strong relationships with customers in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic sectors.

• Offer user training and operational guidance to help customers derive maximum value from their Biotage systems.

• Address service inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

• Keep accurate service documentation and reporting using company systems.

• Manage spare parts inventory and assist in effective service planning activities.

• Support service contracts, warranty, and preventative maintenance programs.

• Discover opportunities to broaden service offerings, including preventative maintenance contracts and instrument upgrades.

• Collaborate with the local sales team to provide technical expertise and customer support.

• Contribute to customer retention, service excellence, and revenue growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience in field service, technical support, or a similar customer-facing technical position, preferably in laboratory instrumentation.

• Familiarity with chromatography, sample preparation, or analytical instrumentation is advantageous.

• Strong troubleshooting abilities with the capacity to independently diagnose and resolve technical issues.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficiency in Korean is required; English language skills are preferred.

• Self-driven, customer-oriented, and capable of working independently.

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively throughout Korea (approximately 50–70% travel).
