Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Address customer concerns and ensure adherence to our service agreements at customer locations in Germany or other parts of Europe.

• Conduct maintenance on equipment and systems, encompassing software and hardware installations, upgrades, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive upkeep.

• Evaluate issues, investigate and document root causes and corrective measures, while monitoring system performance.

• Offer operational assistance for customer-managed samples, including help with sample storage and transitioning from manual to automated systems.

• Engage and collaborate with global teams during task execution.

• Prepare and present reports, including service and status updates.

• Occasionally respond to urgent situations, such as equipment or production line failures and escalations.

• Manage loaner equipment effectively.

• Assist with organizational and administrative tasks, such as preparing cost estimates or coordinating the shipping of loaner and customer equipment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed vocational training or a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or a related field.

• Hands-on experience in maintaining or designing electrical systems and machinery/automation equipment.

• In-depth understanding of electrical and mechanical safety standards.

• Proficiency in written and spoken German and English (the company language is English).

• Experience in identifying causes of equipment malfunctions and troubleshooting through structured and thorough procedures.

• Valid driver's license (car).

• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Windows/DOS-based operating systems.

• Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, including short-notice trips and occasional weekend or holiday work.

• Flexibility to undertake on-call responsibilities for remote troubleshooting.
