Field Service Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee installation supervision, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repair tasks for low voltage distribution gear, transformers, and associated power distribution equipment in a professional manner.

• Compile technical reports/test sheets and manage spare parts, tools/equipment, consumables, and more.

• Uphold and comply with safety regulations for the company and the specific job sites.

• Participate in all relevant site meetings.

• Collaborate with Project Management and Site personnel.

• Deliver exceptional customer service to clients by actively listening to their requirements and addressing them or escalating them within our organization for resolution.

• Maintain regular communication with Project Managers to receive and convey information.

• Actively seek to eliminate waste and enhance value in all processes.

• Comply with all applicable health and safety regulations and practice safe work methods.

• Follow company policies and regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Educational background at the Associates level in electrical power distribution or a related field, along with 3+ years of relevant work experience.

• Military experience is advantageous.

• Experience with Data Centers or equivalent mission-critical systems is preferred.

• Proven experience with electrical power distribution systems, power monitoring systems, AC/DC electrical power, and the use of communication protocols.

• Three to five years of experience in designing low voltage switchgear assemblies/systems and/or power distribution equipment is preferred.

• Familiarity with UL Standards, such as UL67 Panelboards, UL1008 Transfer Switch Equipment, UL10008S Static Transfer Switches, UL60950 Information Technology Equipment, UL 891 Switchboards, UL 1558 Metal-Enclosed Low-Voltage Power Circuit Breaker Switchgear, and other relevant standards.

• Willingness to travel 50% or more.

• Availability for on-call duties, weekends, and necessary overtime as needed.

• Must be capable of responding to and arriving on emergency calls within 2 hours.
