Field Service Engineer 1 – Electric Power

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Montana, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide technical expertise to facilitate field startups for both standard and custom switchgear systems.

• Manage warranty claims and execute necessary repairs.

• Support preventative maintenance agreements within the designated territory.

• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction while addressing on-call service requirements.

• Assist in training internal technicians as well as external customers.

• Collaborate with the Product Support Center help desk to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues effectively.

• Submit daily service reports, weekly expense reports, and ensure accurate project documentation is maintained.

• Stay updated on training for new and enhanced systems, technologies, and platforms.

• Collect feedback to pinpoint opportunities for new products and enhancements to current offerings.

• Monitor, manage, and ensure the resolution of product quality and performance challenges.

• Clearly communicate technical specifications and service instructions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET), or a minimum of 3 years of industry experience.

• Familiarity with values and practices that prioritize customer needs and satisfaction in all business decisions.

• Proficient in data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes.

• Knowledgeable in customer service concepts and techniques.

• Basic understanding of approaches and tools for identifying, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process issues.

• Working knowledge of specific technologies and various application methods.

• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineers, contractors, consultants, and end-users.

• Understanding of power systems, including switchgear, ATS, and generator systems.

• Capability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.

• Experience with automation and controls, including PLC-based systems, HMIs, and distributed control systems.

• Valid driver’s license with the ability to meet background, drug, and medical requirements.
