This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead Account Managers and Equipment Managers effectively across both private and public sectors.
• Oversee support roles and activities, including Cataract Refractive Managers, Clinical Applications Specialists, and Technical Service personnel.
• Achieve annual regional sales quotas, fulfill all expense objectives, renew core business contracts, manage compliance, enhance ATIOL penetration, meet corporate ASP targets, and assist with product launch goals.
• Cultivate talent through training and coaching; ensure the establishment of appropriate development and succession plans; conduct semi-annual and annual performance evaluations; and identify high-performing individuals to facilitate promotional readiness and career advancement in collaboration with the DoS and HR team.
• Organize and lead regional meetings, support and participate in national sales meetings, present regional accomplishments and future forecasts during quarterly senior management meetings, and hold regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports.
• Safeguard Alcon’s financial interests by converting competitive accounts, leveraging unique products and technologies, negotiating contracts with the DoS/CBUH, responding adeptly to multi-site RFPs, strengthening customer relationships, and enhancing ATIOL penetration.
• Consistently update the contract calendar, perform annual business reviews with key accounts, ensure compliance with contracts, and carry out comprehensive bid analyses.
• Execute key marketing initiatives and contribute to marketing strategies by providing consistent field feedback.
• Oversee larger corporate initiatives, including account management expectations, human resource planning, and adherence to finance standards.
• Plan regional resource needs to facilitate new product launches, installations, and training requirements; ensure each territory receives appropriate support based on business priorities; and collaborate with other Field Sales Managers and the marketing team to establish quarterly priorities and resource distribution.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in ophthalmology pharmaceuticals, surgical sales, or the medical device sector.
• Familiarity with public tender RFPs is essential.
• Proven experience in training, coaching, and developing talent.
• Ability to lead and influence within a regional or national scope of responsibility is demonstrated.
• Experience in change management, including guiding multi-stakeholder teams through transitions.
• Possess strong negotiation, sales, organizational, and strategic-thinking competencies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong presentation skills that foster trust and commitment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, along with experience in computerized sales administration systems; display a willingness and capability to learn and utilize new enablement tools and AI.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Willingness to travel up to 40%, including attendance at national and international conferences; weekend and evening availability may be necessary.
