This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Deliver Safety & Health expertise to Grainger customers and sellers to foster partnerships and enhance revenue growth within a designated region.
• Collaborate with District Sales Managers to synchronize safety and health opportunities and provide training to regional sellers on safety and health offerings, resources, and insights.
• Travel approximately 50% within the Vancouver area and 50% beyond, covering the entire province.
• Conduct analyses of customer needs and align safety and health concerns with Grainger products or services.
• Facilitate customer discussions utilizing relevant insights and encourage customers to adopt new perspectives.
• Investigate customer needs, pinpoint issues to resolve, and assess customer readiness.
• Research and establish compelling reasons for customers to implement changes.
• Offer solutions that minimize costs or enhance efficiency through innovative product or service applications.
• Develop solution options through customer engagement and available technology.
• Connect product and service features and benefits to business outcomes.
• Coordinate efforts with internal and external Grainger contacts to support solutions.
• Conduct cost savings analyses and value-based discussions using value receipts and documented value statements.
• Gather customer feedback on tailored solution recommendations.
• Create and manage implementation plans and timelines in collaboration with customers and Grainger resources.
• Follow up with customers to ensure their business needs are being fulfilled.
• Utilize post-implementation success to identify future customer needs.
• Mentor and guide sellers on regional safety and health opportunities.
• Align both internal and external resources to support safety and health initiatives.
• Train sellers on safety offerings and key messaging.
• Identify geographically assigned accounts for significant opportunities.
• Maintain expertise through safety credentials focused on safety and health regulations and industry topics.
• Inform customers about evolving market trends, technology, and business impacts.
• Explore nonstandard solutions that profitably meet customer needs.
• Enhance customer understanding and utilization of Grainger’s standard products and services.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent setting involving safety hazard analysis and assessments, with responsibilities for overseeing safety.
• Strong business acumen coupled with safety expertise.
• Proficiency in understanding financial reporting and analyzing safety business needs.
• Capability to document the safety & health value provided to customers.
• Proven ability to manage projects and drive results.
• Experience in conducting workplace inspections aimed at injury prevention and accident reduction.
• Background in engineering controls, ergonomics, and hazmat control to ensure compliance standards are met.
• Business analysis experience with a focus on identifying and implementing safety improvements.
• Awareness and understanding of safety regulations, safety applications, market offerings, and capabilities.
• Proven understanding of safety violations, safety drivers, safety programs, and fostering a safety culture.
• Solid knowledge and experience with current safety regulations.
• Ability to learn and comprehend the Grainger Selling Process.
• Proficient communication skills across all organizational levels.
• Strong networking capabilities and experience working cross-functionally.
• Skilled in utilizing computer and communication technologies.
• Ability to analyze data using available reports.
• Proactive in partnering with leaders in the geographical area.
• Motivational skills to achieve results through others.
• Valid driver’s license in the state/province required upon hiring.
• Ownership of a suitable vehicle required upon hiring.
• QSSP (Qualified Safety Sales Professional) certification or other recognized safety certifications/degrees preferred.
• May be required to wear PPE at customer sites, including a hard hat, steel-toed safety boots, and comply with close-fitted N95 mask-compatible facial hair requirements.
• May be required to undergo customer alcohol and drug screening procedures.
