Field Operations Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Assist with System Installations

• Travel to client locations throughout North America (up to approximately 50%) to aid in the installation of LiDAR and related systems

• Install sensors and set up the necessary hardware and infrastructure

• Run and terminate Ethernet cables (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a)

• Assist in configuring network switches, modems, and system components

• Operate safely in industrial settings, including at heights and in outdoor conditions

• Activate Systems

• Power on systems and verify that all components are functioning as anticipated

• Check network connections and perform basic configurations

• Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues

• Ensure a seamless commissioning and handover process for customers

• Enhance the Customer Experience

• Professionally represent Blickfeld on-site

• Clearly communicate with customers during the installation process

• Help guarantee that each deployment is a positive experience

• Provide basic support as systems are brought online

• Maintain Organization & Readiness

• Prepare equipment prior to shipment to the site

• Assist in managing tools, inventory, and field kits

• Document installations with notes and photographs

• Support logistical and staging operations

• Contribute & Enhance

• Adhere to site safety protocols and best practices for installation

• Offer suggestions to improve field processes and deployment efficiency

⛳️ Requirements

• 0–3 years of experience in a hands-on technical position (field service, cabling, electrical, IT hardware, or similar)

• Fundamental understanding of networking concepts (IP addresses, switches, connectivity)

• Comfort with using hand and power tools

• Ability to interpret basic technical drawings

• Willingness to travel and work on-site

• Experience in industrial or logistics settings (Preferred)

• Familiarity with PoE devices, cellular connectivity, or Linux/Windows systems (Preferred)

• Any relevant certifications (OSHA, lift equipment, low-voltage, etc.) (Preferred)

• Exposure to sensors, automation, or data-driven systems (Preferred)
