This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide technical training programs for maintenance personnel, acting as a subject matter expert and collaborating in the creation and development of training materials.
• Instruct technicians on the operation, maintenance, and repair of Symbotic automation systems and maintenance equipment.
• Conduct both classroom sessions and practical field training emphasizing electrical, mechanical, PLC, robotic, and controls troubleshooting.
• Educate site teams on diagnosing and troubleshooting PLCs, robotic systems, HMIs, VFDs, and automated processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify ongoing technical training requirements and skill gaps.
• Contribute to the continuous enhancement of training resources, delivery techniques, and technical documentation to meet evolving business demands.
• Serve as an escalation point for technical and customer-related training challenges.
• Maintain a high level of expertise in Symbotic products, automation systems, and operational procedures.
• Identify opportunities to enhance troubleshooting efficiency, maintenance effectiveness, and repair cost optimization.
• Support on-site maintenance operations as an active member of the field team when necessary.
• Travel to customer locations to assist with system launches, technician development, and operational readiness.
• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of technical training, coaching, or instructional experience in industrial or automation settings.
• At least 2 years of experience in industrial controls, automation, or robotics.
• Strong grasp of adult learning principles and technical training delivery techniques.
• Capability to lead technical discussions and present effectively in both classroom and field settings.
• Experience in collaborating on the development and delivery of both live and online training content.
• Ability to adjust training approaches based on technician skill levels and operational requirements.
• Familiarity with DDC systems, industrial robotics, or automation platforms like ABB or FANUC.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, and FactoryTalk View.
• Strong expertise in PLC, robotics, and controls troubleshooting.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems using schematics, multimeters, megohmmeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Experience making modifications to HMIs, VFDs, and automation system configurations.
• Knowledge of advanced sensors, including scanners, encoders, and distance sensors.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.
• Experience working collaboratively with centralized learning or training governance models is preferred.
