This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Diligently assess technical operations, implementing sophisticated corrective measures to ensure optimal equipment quality and performance.
• Independently install, maintain, and repair intricate broadcast equipment, including but not limited to audio processors, transmission systems, EAS equipment, receivers, monitors, electrical systems, and optimizing signal and sound in accordance with Ministry guidelines.
• Expertly operate equipment to control and enhance signal strength, clarity, and sound quality.
• Proactively identify and resolve complex technical issues on equipment and systems at the component level, employing advanced, systematic methodologies.
• Act as a knowledgeable partner to contract engineers, offering expert insights, evaluating their work, and actively coordinating projects.
• Lead collaborative initiatives with internal staff to quickly address intricate technical challenges.
• Accurately complete and submit all necessary administrative documentation, including but not limited to timecards, expense reports, vehicle logs, budgeting records, and other pertinent documents by established deadlines.
• Utilize and maintain designated asset management, work order, and ticketing system software to efficiently log activities, track inventory, and update status.
• Respond swiftly and professionally to emails, texts, and phone calls, ensuring clear communication regarding operational status, project updates, and other work-related issues.
• Keep organized digital and physical records as required for compliance and operational continuity.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of FCC rules and regulations, ensuring that all equipment and operations comply with legal and safety standards.
• Actively promote and comply with K-LOVE's Injury Prevention and Safety program.
• Strictly follow lock out-tag out procedures.
• Conduct mandatory, thorough on-site visits to each assigned transmitter site at least once per quarter.
• Provide swift response and expert resolution for unexpected outages, emergency repairs, and critical events requiring on-site presence.
• Perform essential maintenance on non-broadcast equipment (e.g., electrical generators, HVAC, minor electrical/plumbing) to ensure holistic site functionality.
• Undertake necessary trips to sites for installations or repairs, or to K-LOVE Campus for training or specialized projects.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical studies in electronics, broadcast communications, or a related field; OR a minimum of three years of directly relevant experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• SBE Certification is highly desirable.
• At least 4+ years of proven expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex broadcast electronic equipment, or comparable relevant experience.
• In-depth understanding of broadcast air-chain components and IP-based signal distribution.
• Intermediate networking skills (TCP/IP, routing, switching) and capability to diagnose common network issues.
• Intermediate comprehension of modern microwave and Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technologies.
• Comprehensive understanding of radio frequency (RF) emissions.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electronic schematics, electrical drawings, and construction blueprints.
• Ability to perform accurate calculations for common broadcast-related formulas.
• Expertise in soldering and desoldering electronic components.
• Extensive knowledge of pertinent broadcast-related FCC rules and regulations.
• Proficiency with standard broadcast test equipment (VOMs, Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other common software applications.
• Demonstrated ability to systematically and logically address multiple, complex technical issues.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to execute instructions and think logically from problem to solution.
• Communicates effectively with grace, respect, and humility; listens attentively and accepts feedback positively.
