Field Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform comprehensive onsite assessments in industrial settings to collect essential installation and asset data, including specifications for machinery, asset criticality, recommendations for sensor types and placements, environmental factors, network prerequisites, and other facility-specific details necessary for the successful implementation of the Waites system.

• Evaluate client requirements and environmental conditions, applying knowledge of Waites products and systems, as well as installation needs.

• Approach customer interactions with a consultative and solution-oriented attitude by pinpointing opportunities to enhance asset reliability and maintenance practices.

• Assist with sensor installations both domestically and internationally, collaborating with internal teams to guarantee that installations are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Waites standards.

• Meticulously document site evaluations, installation particulars, machine details, and customer specifications, ensuring comprehensive records that facilitate deployment, service delivery, and future customer interactions.

• Take charge of your own schedule by efficiently arranging travel accommodations and ensuring that your deliverables are completed on time and with thoroughness.

• Work together with cross-functional teams to create and enhance processes that improve efficiencies and effectiveness.

• Recognize and escalate issues, needs, and opportunities to other departments such as Customer Success, Sales, and Engineering as necessary to elevate the customer experience and project success.

• Prioritize exceptional customer satisfaction during every visit by addressing client needs and concerns while maintaining open communication channels.

• Adapt to changing company requirements and undertake additional responsibilities as necessary to support departmental success.


⛳️ Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

• Relevant experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment, including gearboxes, electric motor repairs, precision maintenance, and similar techniques.

• Strong familiarity with industrial equipment, particularly in bearing placement and its fundamentals.

• Capability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.

• Electrical aptitude coupled with a willingness to engage in hands-on work.

• Proficient in using spreadsheets, documentation, and possessing a strong attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.

• High degree of safety awareness; OSHA certification is preferred.

• Willingness and ability to work in challenging industrial environments (heat, humidity, loud noise, dust, grease, airborne particles, etc.) when visiting customer locations.

• Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, perform basic mathematical calculations accurately, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Flexibility to adjust to last-minute changes, alongside strong multitasking and prioritization skills.

• Self-motivated individual with superb organizational and time management skills.

• Positive demeanor, strong work ethic, and a keen desire to learn and advance.

• Commitment to continuous training and staying updated with industry standards.

• A valid driver’s license is required; must have or be able to obtain a passport for international travel.
