This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• As a Field Engineer, you will be at the forefront of Sourcegraph's technology and the AI coding sector. Your role involves collaborating with some of the largest and most technologically sophisticated organizations globally, assisting them in navigating the fast-changing landscape of software development, seamlessly integrating Sourcegraph's software into their SDLC, and enhancing the workflows of thousands of software developers. You will work closely with your Field Engineering teams to become deep technical experts in both the product and the industry, discovering innovative ways to incorporate Sourcegraph into our customers' businesses for maximum impact.

• Begin establishing a trusting relationship with your colleagues in the Field Engineering, Software Engineering, and various account teams.
• Acquire knowledge about our product, our value proposition, our customers, our teams, and our processes.
• Delve deeply into our customer use cases and advanced implementations of Sourcegraph’s technology to support these scenarios.
• Participate in calls with customers and prospects from some of our largest (Fortune 500) clients to understand their technical challenges and requirements.
• Within three months, you will…
• Collaborate directly with Sales and CSM counterparts to guide our customers to success: resolving challenging issues, comprehending custom use cases and designing solutions to meet them, and fostering strong relationships with customer power users.
• Educate and empower technical admins within our customers to effectively configure and subsequently maintain their environments using best practices.
• Assist in optimizing internal customer success metrics by partnering with technical admins and users.
• Within six months and beyond, you will…
• Work closely with Product and Engineering to share insights and observations from customers to drive product enhancements.
• Collaborate with Sales and CSM to enhance the overall customer experience.
• Develop content in partnership with Marketing based on your customer experiences and insights.
• Refine existing processes, templates, and tools to better serve our customers.
• Within one year, you will…
• Become a highly trusted advisor and expert on Sourcegraph’s products, particularly in understanding how our customers utilize them. Your expertise will be heavily relied upon both internally and externally.
• Consistently design and implement effective solutions to the most complex problems and use cases our customers encounter using Sourcegraph’s products.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience as a Software Engineer.
• Experience in a technical, customer-facing role with a comprehensive understanding and strong working knowledge of the end-to-end software development lifecycle and the AI coding landscape.
• Strong scripting skills with familiarity across various languages and frameworks.
• Experience managing large-scale migrations, code modernizations, refactors, and/or platform upgrades.
• Proven experience delivering highly technical solutions, either directly to specific customers or to multiple internal stakeholders.
• Capability to identify issues and opportunities, as well as solutions to address both internal and external challenges. You possess a strategic mindset with the ability to identify shortcomings and opportunities that can be communicated internally and during future customer interactions.
• Proficiency in collaborating and communicating fluently with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and external, including engineers, management, champions, and administrators.
• Experience providing technical training to customers on product features, troubleshooting, configuration, and organizational best practices.
• An organized approach to work, with a demonstrated ability to proactively scope, plan, execute, and manage multiple distinct customer engagements concurrently.
• Ability to communicate and clarify technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Working experience with a variety of application environments, complexities, and deployment methods, including both on-premise and cloud-native architectures.
• Your working hours should overlap with 8am-4pm PT for at least 10 hours per week to ensure synchronous collaboration when necessary.
