This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Executing reactive maintenance on highway technology equipment, which encompasses Signs, Signals, Traffic Signals, CCTV, Emergency Roadside Telephones, Queue Protection, traffic counting devices (including Radar), and Weather Stations.
• Conducting planned cyclic maintenance based on client specifications, manufacturer instructions, and British Standards.
• Performing electronic diagnostic evaluations on highway communication assets to identify and resolve faults.
• Compiling comprehensive reports and documentation that detail maintenance activities, fault analyses, upgrades, and asset conditions.
• Offering expert technical guidance to colleagues, clients, and contractors regarding procedures, challenges, and best practices.
• Assisting in project administration and oversight, including monitoring progress, resource allocation, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Collaborating with third parties (contractors, suppliers, local authorities) during the installation and integration of new highway communication infrastructures.
• Participating in system upgrades, technology improvements, and the commissioning of new equipment.
• Managing asset inventory and aiding in emergency responses to critical incidents involving highway technology systems.
• Contributing to health and safety compliance by conducting risk assessments and adhering to safe working practices.
• Engaging in training initiatives, mentoring junior engineers, and pursuing ongoing professional development to remain current with industry advancements.
• Organizing daily tasks assigned by the Works Coordinator to ensure timely completion as per client expectations.
• As a Lone Worker, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety regulations at all times.
• Being available to volunteer for night shifts when necessary.
• A valid UK driving licence.
• Knowledge of highways communication and electrical assets.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Proficient problem-solving skills.
• IT proficiency.
• Self-driven and proactive in providing solutions.
• A relevant qualification in an electrical or engineering field (Desirable).
• Experience in highways technology or a related field (Desirable).
• 2391 Test and Inspection certification (Desirable).
• 18th Edition wiring regulations certification (Desirable).
