This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and execute regional field medical strategies in collaboration with Nephrology Medical Directors, brand teams, clinical partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Transform enterprise and brand goals into practical plans for the MSL team.
• Establish and track KPIs to assess MSL impact and performance.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of therapeutic areas, products, competitors, regulations, and treatment guidelines to inform strategic decisions.
• Adjust and reprioritize field activities in response to scientific, regulatory, or market developments.
• Lead operational rhythms, review field metrics and KPI dashboards, and provide data-driven coaching.
• Manage, coach, and nurture MSLs through territory coaching and bi-annual territory evaluations.
• Ensure MSLs have a clear understanding of medical strategy, engagement plans, KPIs, and expectations.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-engagement culture while being accountable for team performance.
• Oversee the compliant collection and quality of Voice of KOL insights.
• Ensure effective utilization of Veeva, OLA, and other field tools and systems.
• Promote the adoption of approved tools, processes, and field best practices.
• Communicate medical insights to internal stakeholders for cross-functional strategy and planning.
• Act as the primary regional field medical liaison among Medical, MDO, and cross-functional partners.
• Convey the value proposition of the medical strategy to leadership and stakeholders.
• Educate and mentor internal stakeholders on therapeutic insights and strategic trade-offs.
• Contribute to sharing of best practices and lessons learned across therapeutic areas.
• 7+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, including MSL experience.
• Strong preference for experience in medical strategy.
• An advanced scientific or clinical degree is required; a doctoral level degree is preferred (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP).
• Proven leadership and management capabilities with effective Medical Affairs teams.
• Exceptional communication and formal presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time, including overnight and occasional weekend travel.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Authorization and ability to operate a company-leased vehicle or rental.
• Preferred clinical experience and subject matter expertise in Nephrology.
• Preferred 2+ years of experience managing field-based pharmaceutical/biotechnology employees.
• Experience in navigating an ultra-competitive disease state is preferred.
• Clinical training and work experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and/or biotechnology sectors.
