Field Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Lead technical discovery initiatives with customers and partners to comprehend their business objectives, application needs, data architecture, infrastructure limitations, and criteria for success. Establish scalable AIStor architectures that align directly with these requirements.

• Define and verify AIStor architectures tailored for AI/ML training and inference, analytics platforms, data lakehouse ecosystems, high-performance data pipelines, extensive object workloads, and contemporary application data services.

• Act as a subject matter expert in object storage, S3-compatible architectures, distributed systems, metadata management, replication, erasure coding, security measures, performance optimization, and large-scale namespace design.

• Cultivate trusted relationships with customer technical stakeholders, including teams focused on infrastructure, platforms, analytics, AI, security, applications, and operations. Steer customers towards well-informed architectural decisions while proactively identifying areas to enhance performance, resilience, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• Direct technical evaluations, system configurations, performance assessments, interoperability validations, and proof-of-value initiatives that showcase AIStor’s benefits in real-world customer environments.

• Collaborate with Customer Engineering, Product Management, and Engineering teams to facilitate customers' transitions from evaluation to production, and from initial deployment to wider adoption across various workloads, teams, and use cases.

• Provide technical guidance on Kubernetes, containers, automation, and cloud-native deployment strategies, encompassing hybrid cloud, private cloud, public cloud, and edge infrastructure models.

• Partner with technology and reseller collaborators, along with customer teams, to support comprehensive solutions that involve analytics engines, AI platforms, Kubernetes distributions, data protection tools, identity systems, observability platforms, and public cloud services.

• Create and present engaging architecture presentations, whiteboard sessions, demonstrations, best practices, workshops, and technical enablement sessions for customers, partners, and internal teams.

• Advocate for customer needs internally by documenting field feedback, competitive insights, workload patterns, integration requirements, and enhancement opportunities. Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to inform roadmap priorities and enhance customer outcomes.

• Stay updated on trends in object storage, data lakehouse technologies, AI infrastructure, analytics, Kubernetes, cloud solutions, and competitive storage developments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid background in enterprise storage, object storage, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, or high-performance data-intensive applications.

• Profound understanding of object storage principles and S3-compatible architectures; hands-on experience with HTTP, REST APIs, JSON, security frameworks, replication, data protection, and scale-out system designs is highly desirable.

• Over 10 years of experience in a senior customer-facing technical position such as Field Architect, Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, or Technical Consultant.

• Practical experience with Linux, networking, storage solutions, virtualization, containers, Kubernetes, and modern data center infrastructure.

• Experience in designing or supporting AI, machine learning, analytics, data lakehouse, or large-scale data pipeline environments.

• Familiarity with ecosystem technologies like Databricks, Starburst, Spark, Trino, Iceberg, Delta Lake, Kafka, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other AI and analytics frameworks is a significant advantage.

• Experience with public cloud and hybrid cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, or private cloud platforms.

• Ability to conduct technical discovery, design architectures, build demonstrations, guide proof-of-value execution, analyze performance, and communicate trade-offs effectively.

• Comfortable working within diverse enterprise environments that involve compute, storage, networking, security, identity, observability, backup, disaster recovery, and application teams.

• Excellent verbal, written, whiteboarding, and presentation skills, with the capability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across customers, partners, Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Engineering teams.

• Strong orientation towards customer success, intellectual curiosity, sense of ownership, and capacity to prioritize efficiently in a dynamic environment.

• Willingness to travel as necessary to support customers, partners, field events, and internal team activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience will also be taken into account.
