Field Application Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical training to engineers and application specialists at distribution partners, perform advanced troubleshooting, and assess service quality.

• Assist end users with instrument operations, provide workflow guidance, and train on POC molecular testing applications; offer Level 2 technical support.

• Collaborate with distributors to finalize instrument installations, calibrations, and verifications, while addressing hardware and software issues both remotely and on-site.

• Adapt and enhance training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user manuals to meet local language requirements and practical usage scenarios.

• Oversee instrument performance and testing quality through on-site support and field visits; engage in External Quality Assessment (EQA) activities and data reporting.

• Gather and communicate concerns raised by distributors and end users, creating structured reports to facilitate product and R&D enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in technical support within molecular diagnostics, medical devices, or POC systems.

• Proven experience in training distributors; familiarity with the Mexico City market is preferred.

• Exceptional troubleshooting skills across hardware, reagents/consumables, and system-level challenges.

• Professional proficiency in English and French as working languages.

• Strong skills in cross-cultural communication.

• Willingness to travel 50–70% within Mexico.
