Field Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Finland, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Lead technical interactions with key clients throughout the EMEA region.

• Serve as the main technical liaison among customers, NVIDIA sales, and NVIDIA engineering teams.

• Facilitate the successful design, deployment, and optimization of NVIDIA GPU, AI, networking, and embedded products.

• Assist in the integration of NVIDIA GPUs, ConnectX NICs, BlueField DPUs, Grace, and Vera CPUs into partner system architectures.

• Engage in schematic evaluations, PCB stack-up assessments, and EVT/DVT bring-up processes.

• Monitor, replicate, and drive the resolution of customer issues across ticketing systems.

• Collaborate with Application Engineers and Product teams to communicate workarounds, fixes, and release timelines to clients.

• Guide customers through platform firmware, GPU Operator, Network Operator, DOCA/OFED, DCGM, MFT tools, and NVQual qualification processes.

• Connect customers, NVIDIA engineering, third-party vendors, and internal account/program management teams.

• Oversee NDA procedures and NVOnline access for partner engineers.

• Assist with partner Aerial integration, GPU-accelerated L1/L2 RAN, and platform deployment.

• Support OEM partners with HGX, IGX, and MGX reference designs.

• Provide answers to technical inquiries regarding power architecture, thermal management, PCIe topology, partner enablement documentation, and design proposals.

• Occasionally travel to partner locations.

⛳️ Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical position (FAE, Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer) within the datacenter, HPC, networking, or telecom hardware sectors.

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).

• In-depth knowledge of Linux systems, including kernel modules, driver stacks, Kubernetes/OpenShift operators, container runtimes, and firmware update processes.

• Familiarity with networking fundamentals: Ethernet, InfiniBand, SR-IOV, RDMA, and NIC configuration.

• Experience with Mellanox/NVIDIA ConnectX or BlueField is highly desirable.

• Understanding of NVIDIA GPU platforms (HGX, MGX, DGX), CUDA, GPU Operator, and DCGM.

• Ability to read schematics, comprehend PCIe topology, engage in thermal/mechanical design reviews, and partake in board-level bring-up and debugging.

• Experience in the telecom/RAN/5G sphere (O-RAN, Aerial, AI-RAN concepts) is beneficial.

• Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) is an advantage.

• Prior experience in partner/customer support is a plus.

• Background in BMC/Redfish, IPMI, or platform management firmware is advantageous.
