• Engage with designated accounts to facilitate patient access by providing proactive face-to-face (or virtual if suitable) education on programs to healthcare providers and staff, aiding in the integration of these programs into office processes and workflows.
• Utilize data and analytical tools to respond to customer inquiries regarding payer policies and access requirements.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders within customer accounts (e.g., providers, administrators, billing and coding personnel, etc.) to effectively support patient access.
• Address customer inquiries related to payer policies (e.g., utilization management, denials, and appeals) as well as patient reimbursement issues.
• Work alongside aligned cross-functional teams to share insights about customer needs and obstacles related to access and reimbursement.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of Ionis policies and requirements, executing all responsibilities with integrity and in alignment with company guidance and established Values and Behaviors.
• Appropriately manage Patient Identifiable Information (PII) by ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy laws and regulations, as well as internal Company compliance policies/guidelines.
• Responsible for identifying and reporting adverse events through the established Ionis systems in accordance with applicable processes.
• ~50% Travel Required
• A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• An advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical sector is necessary.
• Previous reimbursement or case management experience is required (prior field access/reimbursement experience is preferred).
• Experience with pharmacy benefit reimbursement/access and specialty pharmacy is essential.
• CPC or a similar coding certification is preferred.
• Experience in the cardiometabolic field is preferred.
• Understanding of key Medicare policies such as Part D design and IRA is necessary.
• Proven skills in teamwork and collaboration, with a successful track record of functioning within highly matrixed and cross-functional teams is essential.
• Willingness to travel for meetings/trainings/programs as needed - additional travel will be required within the assigned region (~50% travel required depending on territory).
• Must reside within the designated territory.
• A valid driver’s license is required, as driving is fundamental to the responsibilities of this position and cannot be avoided.
