Fiber Splicer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.

📋 Description

• Install, splice, and test both single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables and connectors

• Execute OTDR, power meter, and light source testing to ensure end-to-end validation

• Analyze fiber optic schematics, splice plans, and network diagrams

• Troubleshoot and efficiently resolve technical issues in the field

• Carry out preventative maintenance and document potential infrastructure concerns

• Maintain comprehensive and precise documentation of all completed work

• Work collaboratively with engineering, construction, and project teams to aid deployments

• Oversee and manage the inventory of fiber optic tools, testing equipment, and consumables

• Adhere to all safety protocols and comply with company and industry quality standards

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred

• Demonstrated field experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing

• Strong knowledge of OTDRs, power meters, fusion splicers, and related equipment

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

• A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation

• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Flexible work schedule – must be available for evenings, weekends, or on-call duties as required

• Willingness to undertake extensive nationwide travel (3–4 weeks at a time)
