This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
⢠Take ownership of optical connectivity integration within rack-level solutions, encompassing transceivers, DACs, AOCs, fiber trunks, breakout assemblies, patch panels, and switch-to-server interconnects.
⢠Create and uphold standards for fiber routing, bundling, strain relief, labeling, installation, and serviceability for both air-cooled and liquid-cooled rack solutions.
⢠Lead investigations into root causes of optical communication failures throughout prototype validation, factory testing, shipping, deployment, and customer operations.
⢠Assist in resolving customer escalations related to optical performance, network bring-up challenges, transceiver compatibility, link instability, signal degradation, or deployment failures.
⢠Establish methodologies for troubleshooting and procedures for failure analysis using optical power meters, OTDRs, BER testing, insertion-loss measurements, switch diagnostics, and transceiver telemetry.
⢠Develop rack-level fiber optic installation guides, work instructions, service manuals, qualification plans, and best practices documentation.
⢠Collaborate with networking, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering teams to enhance fiber routing and ensure manufacturability and field serviceability.
⢠Aid in qualification and validation testing of integrated rack solutions, including transportation, shock, vibration, and environmental assessments.
⢠Work alongside compliance and certification teams to meet UL, CE, NFPA, and other regulatory standards.
⢠Engage in customer meetings, technical reviews, onsite deployments, and visits to data centers.
⢠Coordinate with transceiver suppliers, switch vendors, cable manufacturers, and networking technology partners to address product and interoperability challenges.
⢠Assist in developing factory test protocols and manufacturing processes to ensure consistent optical installation quality and reliable system performance.
⢠Provide training for manufacturing staff, field service teams, and clients on approved fiber handling and installation techniques.
⢠Propel continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing optical network reliability, deployment efficiency, and minimizing field failures.
⢠Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
