This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Facilitate small group discussions among students enrolled in similar certificate and degree programs, concentrating on shared academic and career aspirations.
• Promote job openings, internships, and career-related resources that align with students’ academic programs and professional goals.
• Organize and lead initiatives like networking events, workshops, and peer-led informational sessions to foster student participation in career development activities.
• Serve as a liaison between Career Services and students, collecting feedback on student needs and interests to enhance programming and resources.
• Create and distribute promotional materials for job postings, events, and career resources within the department.
• Collaborate with Career Services staff to devise strategies aimed at improving student engagement within specific degree programs.
• Report on student interactions, attendance, and feedback from engagement activities.
• Must currently be enrolled at California Institute of Applied Technology and eligible for Federal Work Study.
• Must maintain good academic standing, which entails a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and 80% attendance.
• Proficient in using computer software and online platforms.
• Demonstrate an interest in career development and assisting fellow students in achieving success.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the capacity to effectively convey information and interact with students, colleagues, and others.
• Have a genuine interest in helping others reach their life goals.
• Adopt a customer-service-oriented approach when collaborating with internal departments.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others to promote student success, achieve CIAT goals, and contribute to a positive and inclusive culture.
