Federal Health Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee federal government contract programs that operate on a national level with various service delivery models.

• Act as the main liaison for the government.

• Take responsibility for the overall performance and financial aspects of the contract.

• Lead daily communications with internal teams to ensure coordinated service delivery, particularly during the startup phase.

• Work in collaboration with Provider Relations, Information Technology, Facilities, HR, and subcontractors to guarantee compliance with contractual obligations.

• Manage the operational team's workload to meet quality standards, timeliness, customer service expectations, and cost objectives.

• Maintain relationships with customers, collect feedback, and adjust processes to achieve performance goals.

• Promote continuous improvement and automation initiatives to enhance performance and profitability.

• Provide mentorship to operational leadership and ensure adherence to contractual requirements.

• Execute project plans that include established timelines, deliverables, and documented action items.

• Foster and sustain customer relationships through effective communication.

• Collaborate with business development, capture teams, line leadership, and other functions to create successful growth strategies and aid recompete efforts.

• Manage contract-related action items and review or provide responses and updates.

• Execute corrective action plans and supervise their implementation with internal department leads.

• Address client concerns, escalate issues as necessary, and ensure prompt recommendations and resolutions.

• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s Degree or an equivalent graduate degree OR two full years of progressively higher graduate-level education leading to a master's degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field, or equivalent education.

• Eight (8) years of experience in leading multiple teams or departments.

• At least three (3) years of experience in federal government contract management.

• Minimum five (5) years of project management experience, which includes budget reconciliation, data management, billing, accounting, and customer service.

• Familiarity with clinical workflows, encompassing patient intake, examinations, documentation, orders, results, and follow-ups.

• Knowledge of clinical terminology, including SOAP notes, ICD-10, CPT, referrals, vitals, and laboratory results.

• Awareness of clinical constraints, patient safety considerations, time pressures, and regulatory requirements.

• Experience in healthcare IT, health services, or occupational health programs; supporting clinical operations modernization efforts; or collaborating with physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and medical assistants; or partnering with clinical operations leaders.

• Strong preference for experience in clinical operations, healthcare consulting, health systems, or managed care organizations.

• Must successfully pass a federal background check and/or obtain and maintain contract-specific clearances such as NACI, PIV, SMS, or TMS.

• Proficient in Microsoft applications, particularly Word, Excel, and web-based programs.

• Highly preferred experience in healthcare or managing federal healthcare programs.

• PMI certification is preferred.

• Strong preference for experience in managing a Firm Fixed Price contract budget valued at $25M+.

• Proven program management experience utilizing managerial, technical, and/or business acumen.

• Experience directing and managing internal and external resources, communications, and functional program activities to achieve contract cost, schedule, and performance goals.

• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
