Family and Community Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Create and implement family engagement systems and activities within schools

• Assist families, educators, and the community in fostering student academic success

• Provide support for the "Club Orange" caretaker initiative

• Involve students and families to boost their participation and dedication to the school

• Strengthen parents' confidence and backing for their educational institution

• Enhance the ability of families to foster their children's educational growth

• Collaborate with staff, families, and community organizations to cultivate an inviting school atmosphere

• Organize new parent outreach, orientations, and training sessions

• Address student attendance and engagement challenges

• Lead the creation and execution of the comprehensive family engagement action plan for the school

• Establish and uphold regular communication with families

• Act as a mediator to resolve conflicts at the school level

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• Approximately 30% travel is required

• Experience working with diverse populations

• Exceptional interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational abilities

• Proven capacity to manage time efficiently

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Background in developing and/or facilitating workshops and training sessions

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

• Preference for Michigan residents

• Bilingual abilities are a plus

• Skills in conflict resolution, mediation, and/or negotiation

• Experience in a virtual school environment

• Familiarity with coordinating school or community services
