External Reporting Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Accountable for analyzing and interpreting historical and prospective business performance through financial reporting.

• Effectively communicate findings and implications to both customers and management.

• Offer extensive support to a diverse customer base and enhance processes within the reporting and accounting departments.

• Partner with the Finance team to provide Accounting and Finance insights to clients.

• Develop, sustain, and discuss various reports in collaboration with the reporting team.

• Conduct analysis and clarify results for clients.

• Cultivate relationships with designated clients and deliver requested assistance.

• Engage and collaborate with others in a team environment.

• Investigate new tools and assess opportunities to enhance business processes.

• Participate in the selection of tools for the reporting sector.

• Prepare and disseminate quarterly and annual financial statements along with necessary disclosures.

• Collaborate with external auditors to finalize the financial statement audits.

• Aid in the completion of statutory and GAAP consolidation processes.

• Identify and investigate accounting issues to ensure compliance.

• Support the enhancement and automation of existing reporting processes.

• Provide assistance and maintain automated reporting systems.

• Contribute to special projects as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related Financial discipline.

• Prior experience (1-5 years) in a finance or accounting position is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft products, including Excel, Power Query, and Access.

• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and statutory accounting principles (SAP).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Proven capability to identify opportunities for process improvements.

• Established ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

• Familiarity with Financial Reporting tools.

• Experience with Workday and Workday Reporting tools (Office Connect) is preferred.
