Experienced Information Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Perform scans (agent/network), analyze findings (CVEs, CVSS), pinpoint systemic issues, and conduct risk assessments for intricate environments (cloud, mobile, DB, OS).

• Establish VM policies, enhance security posture, guide remediation efforts, spearhead risk reduction initiatives, and act as the subject matter expert for complex security vulnerability challenges.

• Create reports, dashboards, and alerts to automate tasks (using Python, PowerShell) and monitor metrics.

• Observe the threat landscape, assess new vulnerabilities (NVD, MITRE), and offer proactive recommendations.

• Design, test, and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus solutions, and software deployment tools.

• Deliver in-depth engineering analysis and support for firewalls, routers, networks, and operating systems.

• Conduct and assess vulnerability scans within a multi-platform, large-scale enterprise environment.

• Respond to and initiate corrective measures regarding security breaches, unauthorized access attempts, virus infections that may impact the network, or any event affecting security.

• Supervise the user access process to maintain the operational integrity of the system.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in vulnerability management/infosec (or equivalent experience).

• Expert knowledge of scanners (Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7).

• Proficient in authenticated scanning, agent vs network scanning, discovery, and segmentation constraints.

• Proficient in CSPM.

• Familiarity with OS (Win/Linux/macOS), cloud security, databases, and networking.

• Proficient with CVE, CVSS, MITRE ATT&CK, FISMA, and CISA directives.

• Strong capabilities in risk analysis, root cause identification, and data analysis.

• Excellent communication, leadership skills, and the ability to articulate complex risks to varied audiences.
