Experienced Disability Support Worker – Lifestyle Coach

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Zealand.

📋 Description

• Assist with daily routines and household chores

• Aid in cooking, shopping, and managing budgets

• Foster community involvement and social connections

• Support individuals during appointments and activities

• Guide people in skill development and achieving personal objectives

• Advocate for wellbeing, choice, and independence

• Keep precise records and maintain communication with the broader team

• Collaborate with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities to help them gain confidence, develop life skills, reach their goals, and engage in their communities

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in New Zealand providing support to individuals with disabilities or in a similar community-based support role

• Proven ability to work independently and assist people with complex needs

• Background in behaviour support, mental health, youth work, social services, or trauma-informed care

• A Level 3 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent qualification or experience)

• Possession of a full New Zealand driver's licence

• Excellent communication skills and a person-centred approach

• Availability for rostered shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

• Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand

• Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including professional referee checks, right-to-work verification, driver's licence check, criminal history checks, pre-employment medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing), ACC history check, and verification of qualifications or certifications
